MEET OUR DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS & EDUCATION

Krysta Porteus, the Director of Programs and Education, is a Georgia certified educator with over a decade of teaching experience. She has a Bachelors in Elementary Education, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership, and certifications in Middle Grades Mathematics, English for Speakers of other Languages, Gifted, and Educational Leadership.

Krysta trained and taught middle school mathematics in Hillsborough County for over 10 years. During this time she taught at public magnet schools, where theme integration was a required expectation. She has extensive experience integrating both the Arts and STEM into lessons, and has presented at two national conferences on this topic. Krysta is passionate about making real world connections between content and students’ lives.

She first began serving The Arts Center in several support roles with the Moultrie Service League and the Arts Center Board. When she moved onto staff, she brought her passion for education to help with the implementation of the Education Wing and creating new programming. Krysta would love to help bring arts into your classroom with hands-on lessons and arts integrated activities that are aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
